Marharyta Zhurunova

My practice moves between printmaking, installation, and forms that exist somewhere in between. I’m interested in the moment when an image starts to take up space, when a drawing becomes an environment, and when the material begins to speak for itself.

In my work, I explore the sacred and the non-human — everything that exists beyond human control but still shapes our lives: landscapes, time, decay, and memory. I’m interested in how we live with emotional trauma and loss through making, repeating gestures, and watching things transform. Making art becomes a way to listen, to process, and to stay connected with what has passed.

My projects often begin with personal experience but grow into something shared. I’m interested in how grief, care, and the cycles of nature connect people across different places. I try to create spaces, physical or emotional, where people can slow down, recognize something familiar, and maybe feel a quiet sense of empathy or presence.
